Winter Light Tour

As we travel west from Dingle, heading out along the Slea Head Drive, the low Winter light enhances the already spectacular scenery, providing the conditions for picture-perfect shots of the wonderful and rugged Wild Atlantic Way. Over two sessions, we tour the iconic locations around Coumeenoole, Dunquin, and Clogher, while also exploring some of my own favourite spots along this fabulous coastline. Following a break in Dingle around mid-day, we’ll begin exploring some promising locations for the magic hours and perhaps be lucky and end the day with colourful skies over the Blasket Islands as we approach sunset and dusk.

A terrific experience indeed! Having been to Ireland once and knowing the many opportunities I would have to take landscape photos again, I was seeking out an expert who could guide me around the Dingle peninsula and offer professional input that might improve confidence and get more from my camera. My experience with George at Dingle Darkroom couldn't have been better. Exactly what I wanted to improve my photography skills and learn more about the area. George had a curriculum in mind, he immediately began to access my photography knowledge, and then appropriately offered suggestions both for how to take and where to take photos. I feel more confident about taking and sharing my photos and look forward to my next adventure in Ireland with George leading the way.

Scenic photography tour Slea Head George was an excellent guide who gave my two daughters immense knowledge about their cameras and how to capture excellent quality photos. In addition to helping the girls with their cameras he gave us a lot of great information on other sites to see while staying in Dingle.

A fantastic evening capturing the beauty of the Dingle Peninsula With only two days in the Dingle area, I needed a knowledgeable guide to premier photo locations and an effective teacher to help me expand my abilities as a photographer. Thankfully I found George Jackson and Dingle Darkroom Workshops. George is an exceptional photographer and his ability to share his "eye" and his technical skills made our evening together an experience I'll always treasure. Whether you are pulling a smart phone from your pocket or toting around professional level kit, you won't be disappointed in the results.

Amazing experience! I could not recommend this enough! He took us to the hidden peninsula on a follow me tour and it was absolutely stunning. George is patient, a great person and took us to places we would've never found ourselves. It is totally worth it and a must do while in Dingle!

Wonderful Guide, Great Way to Experience Some Off the Beaten Path Places We can't say enough good things about our time with George Jackson, a very skilled photographer and teacher with an easygoing manner, a free-spirited personality, and a very personable and fun sense of humor. We took two different tours with George, one to the Black Valley near Killarney, and one to some remote spots on the Dingle Peninsula. In both cases, the tours lasted about an hour longer than billed. George was very generous with his time, and he gave us plenty of space to explore off the beaten path spots that he himself had scouted in advance -- his way, as he put it, of helping people to stay clear of "industrial tourism." We highly recommend doing one of George's tours -- it's a great way to see and experience places that you wouldn't get to otherwise, and along the way, you're bound to learn some new tips on photography and gain a new appreciation for the beautiful landscapes of western Ireland.

Loved the tour and loved the results even more! My husband (using a point and shoot camera) and I (using a Canon Rebel) spent 2 partial days with George on a photography tour. Despite the weather being uncooperative part of the time, I am very pleased with many of the photos that I shot with George. He shared various photography tips with us and took us places that we would not have been able to find by ourselves. I implemented two of his tips as soon as we met and my photos were greatly improved. While traveling he also answered our questions about Ireland and gave us insight into the Irish way of life. On the first day George came to our lodging and picked us up and brought us back. The second day we were in Dingle near the time to meet so we met him there and he dropped us off back at our car. After the tour was completed he followed up with an email listing the locations where we stopped for photos, as well as, links for many of the photography tips that he told us about. I would love to go back to the Dingle Peninsula and would look George up to work with him again.

Best way to see Ireland! George was absolutely amazing! We toured 3 days with him and we seen so many places that we definately would not have seen on a big bus tour. He helped me with my camera when I had questions and gave us so much history! He is so kind and accommodating and customized our travels to what we wanted to see adding in places we didn't even know about! I highly recommend if you want a personalized trip, contact George! You will not be disappointed!!
