With a maximum of 5 participants this personable tour departs Dingle at 1.30 pm and follows the Slea Head Drive as it twists and winds its way around the very narrow section of road at Slea Head. We visit Coumeenoole Strand, a small sandy beach nestled between Slea Head and Dunmore Head, locations of a number of movies made on the peninsula, including Ryan’s Daughter, Far and Away and more recently, Star Wars. Our next stop is Dunquin Pier and it’s famous path that zig-zags down the cliff to the pier and a departure point for the Great Blasket Island. Stand safely on the cliff, above the pier and take in panoramic views of the Blasket Islands and the wild Atlantic, as you gaze out over the ocean, the next parish really is North America.

Leaving Dunquin behind us it’s on to Clogher Head with more inspiring views of the entire western edge of the peninsula, including even more movie locations and the Star Wars viewing point, looking out towards the location of the filming on Sybil Head during 2016. We finish the tour with visits to the ancient ecclesiastical sites of Galluras Oratory and the ruins, fabulous stone cross and standing stones at Kilmalkedar Church. We return to Dingle at 5 pm in time for a well-earned rest!
