Heritage Photography Tour on the Dingle Peninsula

TBA August 2018

Duration 8.00 a.m. to sunset         5 Places €75 per person

To celebrate Heritage week we’ve designed a one day tour for August 2018

Our Heritage Tour takes in the photogenic structures and sites that have made the Dingle Peninsula their home for thousands of years.  From ancient churches and castles, to standing stones and abandoned structures from more modern times. All you need to do is sit back and relax, while we take you along the backroads and country lanes that cover the Dingle Peninsula, stopping off at a whole host of beautiful locations throughout the day.

Following a short break in Dingle during late afternoon, we’ll continue in the early evening with a tour around the Slea Head drive, capturing its evening mood and atmosphere before taking a short walk up to the standing stone at the top of Dunmore Head, where we hope to see out the day with a touch of colour in the skies over the Blasket Islands and beyond.

  • Any phone, camera or device
  • Ancient churches and ecclesiastical sites
  • Castles, ring forts and promontory forts
  • Standing stones, cross slabs and ogham stones
  • Beehive huts and famine relief towers
  • Moody abandoned farmhouses and other ruins
  • Evening tour of the Slea Head Drive
  • End of day shoot at Dunmore Head with views towards the Blasket Islands
  • Expert instruction always on hand so you can improve your photography as we tour

As ever with Dingle Darkroom Tours we’ll take the back roads wherever we can, stopping in on some rare gems along the way.

All locations (except the end of day walk up Dunmore Head) have a very easy level of access or are accessible from where we park, however the end of day walk up Dunmore Head does require a general level of fitness and agility.

The tour leaves Dingle at 8.00 am and returns before 10.00 pm.  You’re more than welcome to bring packed lunch and a drink with you although there will be plenty of opportunities to get drinks, sandwiches and snacks during the day.  We’ll take a longer break in Dingle before we head out on the evening tour.

If the weather’s forecast to be poor on the above date, the tour will be arranged to the nearest fair day, if you can’t participate on the alternative day a full refund of any deposit or payment towards the tour will be made.

This tour is also available at any time as a small group or individual adventure, please visit our Custom page for further information.

Please check the Information page for everything else.

I'm Interested in the All Day Heritage Week Photography Tour!
